I like this mind/body/soul structure! I hadn’t thought of stories like that before. It works for a novel, too, except soul would probably be writing style (prose and dialogue both) in place of music. I’ll be pondering that.
I'm a fan of the traditional four analytical pillars of Theme, Plot, Characterization, and Style. For this particular piece I wanted a more condensed formulation.
(An question when using the traditional approach on musicals is whether music should be folded into Style, or broken off into its own fifth category.)
